Re-Cap: Film Friendly Texas Workshop in Bastrop
On Tuesday, we hosted more than 50 community leaders representing over 34 statewide communities in our first FFTX Workshop of the year. Communities like Clute, Flatonia, and San Saba began the first step in certification to join our network of more than 130 communities.
Re-Cap: Texas Moving Image Industry Information Session
We hosted nearly 50 small business owners and members of our Film Friendly Texas (FFTX) network on Feb. 7 for an information session on the business-friendly resources provided by our office. The event also included break-out discussions in which attendees could network and discuss future collaboration in business and community development. We are excited to continue holding events like these in the months to come.
Texas at SXSW
There's no shortage of Texas representation at this year's SXSW with Texas-tied premieres and honorees in film, gaming and VR. And we have a number of activities lined up including our Texas Storytellers Meet Up and Trade Show Booth (#646).
TFC Internship Opportunities
Our internship program offers college students the opportunity to develop a working knowledge of and gain experience in the film, television, animation and video game industries.
Legislative Session Update
Earlier this month, Governor Abbott delivered the State of the State Address outlining his emergency items and priorities for the legislative session. Through February and March, Senate and House committees conduct hearings to ask questions about agency programs and learn more about issues impacting the state.
