In June, TMO Director Brendon Anthony joined music industry stakeholders in Lindale, Fort Worth, and San Antonio for music business development meetings and music industry townhall discussions encompassing economic development best practices, as well as continuing participation in the TMO's Music Friendly Communities program.
Music Modernization Act Sails Through Senate Judiciary Committee; Industry Reacts
SoundExchange President and CEO Michael Huppe said to Billboard Magazine, "Today, lawmakers continued to make progress on legislation that will result in the most comprehensive music licensing reform in our lifetimes..." as the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved an amended Music Modernization Act, which means that it can now go to the floor to be voted on by the full Senate.
