Governor Greg Abbott just released his 2018 "Report to the People of Texas," and it highlights some of the Texas Music Office's recent work (see page 10 in the report), among the many other Office of the Governor accomplishments from the prior year.
St. David's Children's Hospital - Volunteer Music Program
St. David’s Children’s Hospital has worked to develop
a partnership with MyMusicRx. This program brings the joy of music to children
in hospital settings as a method of therapy and to distract children from their
current circumstances. St. David's Children's Hospital is currently seeking musician volunteers to begin the program at the hospital in February!
San Antonio & Denton to Receive MFC Certification
The City of San Antonio and the City of Denton are both scheduled to receive the Texas Music Office's "Music Friendly Communities" certification in February.
