I hope you’re enjoying your summer; and if yours is anything like it is here at the Texas Film Commission, it is hard earned yet full of excitement for the future. Now that the 85th Legislative Session has ended, we want to thank the Governor’s Office, legislators, scores of state municipalities, hundreds of stakeholders and businesses, and thousands of you who work to make the industry thrive in Texas for supporting the TFC through the process. As a result, our incentive program is well-funded to recruit productions, jobs, and spending into communities all across Texas for the next two years. Needless to say, this success has us hard at work at the TFC.
Incentive program aside, there is still no state like Texas for making films, television, commercials, animated projects and video games. We remain in demand for our locations and the willingness of Texas communities, businesses and talented workforce to go the extra mile to make each production successful and appreciated! Here at the TFC, we will continue to increase production opportunities by meeting industry stakeholders to recruit new production and infrastructure, certifying communities across Texas via our Film Friendly Texas program; retooling our workforce training program so we can expand our crew base; and expanding our database of resources and locations contacts for productions. You have my word on it.
In the meantime, we ask you to join us in providing content makers with the best resources available anywhere. Productions are making the Texas Film Commission their first stop for cast, crew, vendors, locations, and regional contacts, and as they look to Texas post-session, there has never been a better time than now for you to list or update your business, service or talents in the online Texas Production Directory.
Finally, we again want to thank you for your leads, locations, inquiries, comments, and your uniquely Texas support that helps us do a better job for you every day. It is an honor and a pleasure for us to serve our vibrant, talented statewide community.
