FREE COVID-19 vaccines offered every Wednesday at CHW

More than 51% of Galveston County residents ages 12 and older are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and nearly 57% have received at least one dose. We're halfway there. Let's work together to end this pandemic! Coastal Health & Wellness hosts a FREE COVID-19 vaccine clinic each Wednesday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. No appointment is needed and no insurance is required. And, you do not need to be a CHW patient. COVID-19 vaccines are tested in clinical trials, don't contain the live virus, can't give you COVID-19 and protect you from hospitalization and death.

Don't skip out on well-child, immunization visits

Making sure your child sees their doctor for well-child visits and recommended childhood immunizations is one of the best things you can do to protect them, and your community, from serious diseases. Your child may have had to miss or delay their wellness checkups and vaccinations during the past year. Get back on track.

Include medical supplies in hurricane prep kit

It's important to be prepared ahead of time during hurricane season. In addition to having basic emergency supplies, people with diabetes should also put together a diabetes care kit. Enrollment in Health Insurance Marketplace open through Aug. 15

Enrollment in the 2021 Health Insurance Marketplace has been reopened through Aug. 15 during a new special COVID-19 enrollment period.

With job losses continuing to mount amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and millions of people having lost their job-based health insurance since the start of this public health and economic crisis, enrollment has reopened to give those who need health insurance a new opportunity to get covered.

Enrollment at HealthCare.gov is open through Aug. 15, giving consumers additional time to take advantage of new savings through the American Rescue Plan and to enroll or re-evaluate their coverage needs with increased tax credits available to reduce premiums.

Signing up for the Patient Portal is easy and secure

The Patient Portal is an easy way to get in touch with your Coastal Health & Wellness team. It is a secure, internet application that allows you to:

• Request and view appointments
• Send a message to your medical provider, nurse, billing, medical records, registration, or the referral department
• View a summary of your health record and lab results
• Request a prescription refill
• View and pay your statement online
