Future City Hall Update

In order to keep all of our city employees updated on new developments, we are rolling out a new Future City Hall Updates series. This series will include monthly project updates and bi-weekly highlights about the history of our future home, interesting features and fun elements to truly help make the building feel like home. We are excited to bring this series to you and will look to incorporate photos, videos and multimedia items to keep you up to date!

Since our last communication, our Future City Hall team has been working around the clock with our city departments and staff to truly understand how our departments work today, and how we want to work in the future world. This has empowered our city hall team to piece together our preliminary understanding of who and where divisions could be located in the Future City Hall. This process takes time and multiple rounds of data collection to get right, and as we move further along in the process, we are excited to share these space models with you all!

In addition to the modeling underway, the team is also hard at work building an understanding of what our residents are looking for in the future council chambers building. The team completed a survey of nearly 15,000 residents subscribed to the city’s council distribution list to better understand their wants and needs for the new chambers. Below is some of the feedback we received

What’s coming next?

The Future City Hall team will soon be growing! We just completed the selection process for our architectural partner and will be working to bring our recommendation to the mayor and council for final approval. We had 11 great teams submit responses to this bid solicitation, and through a short listing process, the Future City Hall team selected four amazing teams to complete an interview round.

We can’t wait to introduce the new members of our team in our next edition, and showcase the talent they will be bringing to the overall team.

As always, if you have questions or thoughts on the program, please submit them to FutureCityHall@fortworthtexas.gov!
