As we embark on a new year at ESC-2, we're committed to meeting the evolving needs of our school board trustees. We understand the challenges posed by our large region, where travel can sometimes be a barrier. To ensure that every trustee has access to vital training and services, we are expanding our offerings with more remote options, including workshops and training sessions via Zoom.
Recently, we hosted two successful Zoom workshops: Robert's Rules of Order with an external professional facilitator and Safety & Security for Our Schools update by the Chief of School Safety from TEA. Both were specifically designed for school board members and received excellent feedback.
As we continue our outreach, we encourage your participation in these offerings. If there's a workshop that left a lasting impact and you'd like to revisit it, let us know. We are eager to share our current workshop and training options and can even customize sessions to address the unique needs of your board.
Your engagement is key to our success, and we look forward to supporting you throughout the year.
ESC-2 congratulates Melissa Gonzales from Gregory-Portland ISD for representing our region in the Leadership TASB Class of 2025!

Did you know your district could earn money back on the goods and services you already purchase? Since 1992, The GoodBuy Purchasing Cooperative offers an efficient, cost-effective way for local education agencies, government entities, and non-profits to meet procurement needs while ensuring compliance with Texas law.
Beyond savings, GoodBuy also provides a Profit Sharing Program that returns a percentage of profits to districts based on their participation. For example, in the most recent profit-sharing distribution, Alice ISD received $11,593.73, Corpus Christi ISD earned $65,079.04, Gregory-Portland ISD was awarded $13,451.32, and Mathis ISD received $8,068.95.
We encourage your school board to explore this valuable resource, so your district can save and receive money back at the end of the year! Contact Sherri Fitzpatrick (sherri.fitzpatrick@esc2.us) to learn how to join and start earning.
