Social Studies TEKS Revision Ad Hoc Committee
The State Board of Education will be holding public testimony on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 1pm. in the Ad Hoc Committee meeting. Public Hearing held on Recommendations for a Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills Framework for Social Studies. Testimony will be presented regarding recommendations for a framework to guide the organization of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for social studies, including the identification of core content topics that students should know and be able to do in U.S. history, Texas history, world history, geography and civics in Kindergarten - Grade 12. In accordance with State Board of Education (SBOE) operating procedures, oral testimony will be limited to two (2) minutes per person.
