Play the Head Start Way Newsletter Issue No. 8
Open a Box of Possibilities to Support STEAM Learning: Try This Out!
"Looking for free, low-cost, and fun ways to engage children? Educators and families can use cardboard boxes to spark children’s imaginations. While adults may see a cardboard box as an everyday object, it holds numerous possibilities in the eyes of a child. Open-ended materials like boxes offer children opportunities to express their creativity and imagination. Children build science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) skills as they choose materials to imagine, create, test their ideas, and implement them. So, what’s in the box? Endless possibilities!" Click here to access the newsletter and read more!
The Play the Head Start Way Newsletter is produced monthly by the National Center on Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning. Email ecdtl@ecetta.info to submit questions or suggestions for future newsletter topics.
