Career Prep, Practicum, WBL Teacher Training Workshop - Nov. 1, 2024
|
Practicum, Career Preparation and other Work-Based Learning (WBL) instructional settings are essential elements of every district’s career and technical education (CTE) program offerings.
This Practicum and Career Preparation Teacher Training workshop is designed to meet the statutory requirements of Texas Academic Code (19 TAC Chapter 231) requiring school districts to ensure that each Career Prep and Practicum teacher has completed "...appropriate training in state and federal requirements regarding work-based learning and safety..." before beginning to teach the course.
This enhanced, interactive training program will help participants understand and apply current rules and statue from Texas Education Code (TEC), The Student Attendance Accounting Handbook (SAAH), the United States Department of Labor (DOL), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
|
This fast-paced, interactive workshop is appropriate for CTE teachers who are new to the Practicum and Career Preparation instructional settings and is an excellent refresher for veteran teachers, campus administrators, counselors and CTE Administrators who wish to "sharpen their saw" as they oversee the programs, support teachers and students, and collaborate with business partners to develop appropriate training stations and externships for students.
