Restorative Discipline Practices
Dr. Gaye Lang's brand new series, Restorative Practices Made Simple: Families as Partners is a video series dedicated to empowering parents with the tools needed for effective communication and restorative practices at home. This series is designed to align home environments with the restorative approaches taught in schools, ensuring a consistent and supportive experience for children. It focuses on providing parents with resources and strategies to foster better understanding and relationships with their children, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between families and educational institutions.

2024 Promising Practices: Each year, the Parent and Family Engagement Statewide Initiative accepts applications from districts and/or schools who are implementing practices that yield high parent and family engagement. These practices are rated on: the goal of the practice, evidence of increased student outcomes, and if all stakeholders are involved in the data collection, planning collaboration, and the evaluation processes.
Who can nominate? Anyone! ESC employees, parents/guardians, family members, district administrators, superintendents, school board members, community members, teachers, and so many more can nominate! When are applications due? March 29, 2024
