2022-2023 Federal Report Card Data Available
ESSA requires each State education agency to prepare and publish an annual report with state, LEA and campus level data. The 2023 Federal Report Card data can be found here.
At a minimum, the LEA must
- post direct links to the State, LEA and campus report cards on its website;
- notify parents of all students about the availability of the report cards and the options for obtaining them;
- provide appropriate translation (either oral or written) upon request;
- make hard copies available to parents upon request, and
- make card copies available for viewing in public locations.
Sample parent notification letters in English and Spanish that LEAs may customize are available on the TEA Federal Report Card Web Page. LEAs must notify parents of the availability of the federal report card information by Monday, March 4, 2024.

Title IV, Part A Use of Funds
A TEA update was released on 12/15/2023 relaying a due date extension (under House Bill 3) for College Preparation Assessment Reimbursements to LEAs. The college preparation assessment reimbursement, permits the state to provide a one-time reimbursement to districts for the administering of one college preparation assessment (SAT, ACT or TSIA) per eligible student. For full details, and the survey link, please visit the update here. The survey will close on January 30, 2024.
However, please keep in mind - Per TEA - IF the LEA requests and receives a reimbursement for eligible students' college prep assessment, the LEA may NOT use Title IV, Part A funds for this activity.
Keep in mind, ESC-Region 14 has a fantastic website as part of their Title IV, Part A Capacity Building Initiative with TEA. It is maintained with the most up-to-date information in the changing landscape of school safety.

Let's Not Forget ESSER _ USDE Year 4 Annual Report
The deadline for LEAs to complete this reporting requirement is February 16, 2024. An email REMINDER was sent to all LEAs on 1/8/2023 who had not yet submitted their reports.
This report is capturing data from 9/1/2022 through 8/3/2023.
Smartsheets is the official platform for entry and submission of the report. Highly recommend that LEAs use the planning workbook, linked below, prior to entering data into Smartsheets. TEA is pre-populating data based on the date the LEA requests the draw down in the ER system.
TEA is holding regular office hours to troubleshoot questions LEAs may have as they begin the reporting process.

ESSA 2022-2023 Carryover and Final Amounts
TEA expects to release 2022-2023 ESSA carryover amounts and Final amounts in mid to late February - much as they did last year. Be on the lookout for this announcement in your email! As a reminder, TEA asks that your 2023-2024 ESSA Consolidated Application not be in draft status during this time.
Also, keep in mind any private school partners you may be providing equitable services to. They will need to be consulted regarding any final amounts that change their allocations. (ISDs only).
