The Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) will implement a new Medicare retiree prescription drug program called HealthSelect Medicare Rx on January 1, 2013. We previously sent you communications about this new plan and the company that will manage the plan called SilverScript. Part of the HealthSelect Medicare Rx benefit includes an Extended Days Supply (EDS) network. An EDS network pharmacy will allow you to purchase a 31- to 90-day supply of long-term medication at the mail order copay. Pharmacies that joined the HealthSelect Medicare Rx network include: HEB, KROGER, BROOKSHIRE, RANDALLS, SAFEWAY, TOM THUMB, and many other chains and independent pharmacies. Although there are currently 8,883 pharmacies in the HealthSelect Medicare Rx network, there were some that decided not to be part of the EDS network. You can find out if your pharmacy is in the EDS network by calling SilverScript Customer Service toll-free at (855) 344-0938 (TTY – 711), 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In January, you can log into your online account at www.hsmedicarerx.com and use the Pharmacy Locator tool to verify if your pharmacy is in the EDS network. ERS has posted this information in the updated HealthSelect Medicare Rx FAQ at www.ers.state.tx.us.
If you have questions about HealthSelect Medicare Rx, please call SilverScript at the number listed above.
