Reminder: life insurance decreases at 70
If you continued your Optional Term Life Insurance benefit into retirement, coverage begins decreasing at age 70, even as your premium rates continue to increase every five years. Once you turn 70, the Optional Term Life Insurance you continued at retirement reduces to a percentage of the amount you had before you turned 70.

Staying Connected Fairs
ERS is currently planning our popular biennial Staying Connected retiree fairs for the Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston areas in November. We invite you to attend to learn the latest about ERS’ benefit programs.
These events are open to all retirees and offer opportunities to talk one-on-one with ERS staff, administrators of Texas Employees Group Benefits Program insurance plans (including new administrators Express Scripts and EyeMed).
