Explainer: Orthodontics

Orthodontics is a dentistry specialty that treats problems with teeth or jaw alignment. Common corrective methods include braces, aligners and retainers. Your regular dentist may also specialize in orthodontics or may refer you to an orthodontist. State of Texas Dental plans cover non-cosmetic, in-office treatment. Coverage includes routine exams, X-rays, minor surgical procedures, dental appliances and adjustments.
