WHAT TO EXPECT
As part of the I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX) Project, TxDOT will close the southbound (SB) I-35 mainlanes from Loop 1604 to Judson Road for bridge beam installation.
The closure is scheduled 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025.
DETOUR INFORMATION
All SB I-35 traffic must use Exit 172, Loop 1604/Pat Booker Road exit. To return to the SB I-35 mainlanes, continue south on the I-35 frontage road through the Pat Booker Road, Toepperwein Road, and Judson Road intersections, then use the next available entrance ramp.
WHAT TO EXPECT
As part of the I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX) Project, TxDOT will close the southbound (SB) I-35 frontage road from Evans Road to Olympia Parkway for milling and overlay work.
The closure is scheduled for the following times/days:

- 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Sunday, June 8, 2025
DETOUR INFORMATION
All traffic on Evans Road at the I-35 intersection will use the northbound I-35 frontage road to Schertz Parkway. Travelers will then turn left to access the southbound I-35 frontage road and use the next available entrance ramp to enter southbound I-35 mainlanes. Travelers should use the Loop 1604 distributor ramp to eastbound Loop 1604 and exit Pat Booker Road. Use the eastbound to westbound turnaround at Pat Booker Road to head westbound on the Loop 1604 frontage road. Continue on the frontage road until reaching Forum Parkway.
All traffic on Evans Road at the I-35 intersection will use the northbound I-35 frontage road to Schertz Parkway. Travelers will then turn left to access the southbound I-35 frontage road and use the next available entrance ramp to enter southbound I-35 mainlanes. Traffic should follow the signs and use the ramp to westbound Loop 1604 mainlanes.
 WHAT TO EXPECT
As part of the I-35 Northeast Expansion Program, the southbound I-35 connector ramp to southbound I-410 South and the southbound I-35 frontage road entrance ramp to southbound I-410 South will be closed for bridge work.
The closure is scheduled from 9 p.m. Friday, June 6, until 5 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2025. This is a weekend project, and the impacted lanes are expected to remain closed for the full duration.
DETOUR INFORMATION
Travelers on southbound I-35 at the I-410 South interchange who want to connect to southbound I-410 South, and those who want to enter southbound I-410 South from the southbound I-35 frontage road will follow detour signs to the southbound I-35 frontage road to George Beach Avenue. They will use the signalized turnaround at George Beach Avenue, entering the northbound I-35 frontage road. They will then transition to the southbound I-410 South frontage road on the frontage road connector, and use the I-410 South entrance ramp south of Winnco Drive to enter the southbound I-410 South mainlanes.
Note: All closures are weather permitting and subject to change.
