 WHAT TO EXPECT
As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will require closures for bridge construction:
- Loop 1604 eastbound (EB) mainlanes and connected ramps
- Loop 1604 westbound (WB) right lane from west of the I-10 interchange to Kyle Seale Parkway
- I-10 EB mainlanes, frontage road and connected ramps
- I-10 WB mainlanes and connected ramps
These closures are expected from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 through Sunday, May 11, 2025, weather permitting. Law enforcement will direct traffic through intersections during this time, as needed. Please follow detour signage.
DETOUR INFORMATION
Loop 1604 EB Mainlanes
Traffic traveling on the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes looking to continue through the I-10 interchange will follow signs to I-10 EB. Travelers will enter the I-10 EB mainlanes and exit via Exit 557 to enter the I-10 EB frontage road. They will use the turnaround at UTSA Boulevard, entering the I-10 WB frontage road. They will follow the I-10 WB frontage road to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Traffic will be able enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
I-10 EB Mainlanes
Traffic traveling on I-10 EB looking to continue through the Loop 1604 interchange or access Loop 1604 EB will follow the ramp to Loop 1604 WB and exit to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Travelers will follow the Loop 1604 WB frontage road and use the turnaround at La Cantera Parkway to enter the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. They will enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes and follow signs to I-10 EB. Those looking to access Loop 1604 EB will follow the Loop 1604 detour. Loop 1604 WB looking to access I-10 EB will exit to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road and follow the I-10 EB detour.
I-10 EB Frontage Road
Travelers on the I-10 EB frontage road looking to continue through the Loop 1604 interchange will turn right onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. They will use the turnaround at La Cantera Parkway to enter the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. They will enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes and follow signs to I-10 EB. Travelers may exit via Exit 557 to re-enter the I-10 EB frontage road.
I-10 WB Mainlanes
Traffic traveling on I-10 WB looking to continue through the Loop 1604 interchange or access Loop 1604 WB will exit via Exit 556 B and follow the I-10 WB frontage road through the Loop 1604 interchange. Those looking to enter Loop 1604 WB may turn left onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Those looking to re-enter the I-10 WB mainlanes may at the first available entrance ramp.
