WEEKEND CLOSURES

5 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2025
 WHAT TO EXPECT
As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will require closures for bridge construction:
- Loop 1604 eastbound (EB) mainlanes and connected ramps
- I-10 EB mainlanes, frontage road and connected ramps
- I-10 westbound (WB) mainlanes and connected ramps
These closures are expected from 9 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2025, weather permitting. Law enforcement will direct traffic through intersections during this time, as needed. Please follow detour signage.
DETOUR INFORMATION
Loop 1604 EB Mainlanes
Traffic traveling on the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes looking to continue through the I-10 interchange exit via the Vance Jackson Road exit ramp and follow the Loop 1604 EB frontage road through the I-10 interchange. Traffic will be able enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
I-10 EB Mainlanes
Traffic traveling on I-10 EB looking to continue through the Loop 1604 interchange or access Loop 1604 EB will follow the ramp to Loop 1604 WB and exit to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Travelers will follow the Loop 1604 WB frontage road and use the turnaround at La Cantera Parkway to enter the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Those looking to enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes can follow the Loop 1604 detour. Those looking to return to I-10 will enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes and follow signs to I-10 EB. Loop 1604 WB looking to access I-10 EB will exit to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road and follow the I-10 EB detour.
I-10 EB Frontage Road
Travelers on the I-10 EB frontage road looking to continue through the Loop 1604 interchange will turn right onto Via La Cantera and follow it to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. They will use the turnaround at La Cantera Parkway to enter the Look 1604 EB frontage road. Travelers may keep right to return to the I-10 EB frontage road.
I-10 WB Mainlanes
Traffic traveling on I-10 WB looking to continue through the Loop 1604 interchange or access Loop 1604 WB will exit via Exit 556 B and follow the I-10 WB frontage road through the Loop 1604 interchange. Those looking to enter Loop 1604 WB may turn left onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Those looking to re-enter the I-10 WB mainlanes may at the first available entrance ramp.
Closures may open early if work is complete and conditions are safe for drivers.
TxDOT is committed to scheduling closures that create the least impact to traffic and allow work to be completed safely. Drivers are encouraged to consider the construction schedule as they plan commutes and keep this important information in mind:
- Access to businesses will remain open during construction.
- Law enforcement officers will assist with traffic flow at intersections.

Please note construction schedules are subject to change. Additional closures may be scheduled on other segments of the Loop 1604 North Expansion project.
