Loop 1604 North Expansion Project | Weekend Closures (4/25/25 to 4/28/25)

   TxDOT is committed to scheduling closures that create the least impact to traffic and allow work to be completed safely. Drivers are encouraged to consider the construction schedule as they plan commutes and keep this important information in mind:
Please note construction schedules are subject to change. Additional closures may be scheduled on other segments of the Loop 1604 North Expansion project.
DETOUR INFORMATIONLoop 1604 EB Mainlanes at the I-10 Interchange Traffic traveling on the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes looking to continue through the I-10 interchange exit via the Vance Jackson Road exit ramp and follow the Loop 1604 EB frontage road through the I-10 interchange. Traffic will be able enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp. Loop 1604 EB to Bitters Road and Huebner Road Traffic traveling on the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes looking to access Bitters Road and Huebner Road will exit via the NW Military Highway exit ramp. Travelers will follow the Loop 1604 EB frontage road to Bitters Road and Huebner Road. Loop 1604 EB Frontage Road at the US 281 Interchange All Loop 1604 EB frontage road traffic looking to travel through the US 281 interchange will turn right onto the US 281 SB frontage road and follow it to the Donella Drive turnaround. Traffic will then follow the US 281 NB frontage road back to Loop 1604 and turn right onto the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Loop 1604 WB at the US 281 Interchange All Loop 1604 WB frontage road traffic looking to travel through the US 281 interchange will turn right onto the US 281 NB frontage road and follow it to the Redland Road turnaround. Traffic will then follow the US 281 SB frontage road back to Loop 1604 and turn right onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Loop 1604 WB and to I-10 EB Traffic traveling on Loop 1604 WB looking to continue through the I-10 interchange or access I-10 EB will exit via the I-10 EB and WB exit ramp and follow the Loop 1604 WB frontage road through the I-10 interchange. Those looking to re-enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes may at the first available entrance ramp. Those looking to access I-10 EB will use the turnaround at La Cantera Parkway to enter the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. they will enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes and follow signs to I-10 EB. Travelers may enter the I-10 EB frontage road by exiting via Exit 557. Loop 1604 WB Babcock Road Entrance Ramp Traffic traveling on the Loop 1604 WB frontage road looking to enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes after Babcock Road will continue on the Loop 1604 WB frontage road and use the entrance ramp after Hausman Road. I-10 EB Mainlanes and Frontage Road at the Loop 1604 Interchange Traffic traveling on I-10 EB looking to continue through the Loop 1604 interchange or access Loop 1604 EB will exit via Exit 556 B and follow the I-10 EB frontage road to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Travelers will follow the Loop 1604 WB frontage road and use the turnaround at La Cantera Parkway to enter the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Those looking to enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes can follow the Loop 1604 detour. Those looking to return to I-10 will enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes and follow signs to I-10 EB. Travelers may enter the I-10 EB frontage road by exiting via Exit 557. I-10 WB to Loop 1604 EB (Option 1) All travelers on the I-10 WB mainlanes looking to access Loop 1604 EB will continue through the Loop 1604 interchange and exit onto the I-10 WB frontage road toward La Cantera Parkway. Travelers will use the turnaround at La Cantera Parkway, entering the I-10 EB frontage road, following it to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. They will then use the La Cantera Parkway turnaround to enter the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Travelers may enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes at the first available entrance ramp. I-10 WB to Loop 1604 EB (Option 2) All travelers on the I-10 WB mainlanes looking to access Loop 1604 EB will exit via Exit 556 B and enter the I-10 WB frontage road. Travelers will then enter the Loop 1604 EB frontage road and may enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp. US 281 NB Mainlanes at the Loop 1604 Interchange All traffic looking to continue on the US 281 NB mainlanes through the Loop 1604 interchange will exit via the Henderson Pass exit. They will continue on the US 281 NB frontage road through the Loop 1604 interchange and re-enter the US 281 NB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp. US 281 SB Mainlanes at the Loop 1604 Interchange All traffic looking to continue on the US 281 SB mainlanes through the Loop 1604 interchange will exit via the Redland Road exit. They will continue on the US 281 SB frontage road through the Loop 1604 interchange and re-enter the US 281 SB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp. Background The expansion is planned in six segments with four segments currently under construction.
