Good morning,
On the evening of May 14, 2026, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will update
the Inventory Management System (IMS) with Release 9.0.7 which contains the content
summarized below:
Enhancements:
• New Dealer Destroyed Plate Workflow
A new, formalized workflow has been created to track and document instances of
unauthorized license plate destruction. This provides greater accountability and
oversight for our allocations team and dealers.
• Inventory Transfer Improvements
You can now choose between transferring specific, individual plates or bulk
transferring an entire inventory category (DHT) between facilities.
• New Dealer Training Hub
A new "Training" Hub has been introduced, offering a library of on-demand
training videos in both English and Spanish. This section will also house all future
release notes, creating a single, accessible resource for dealers to stay informed
and get the most out of the system.
• Inventory Menu Configuration Changes
Dealer access to the Inventory Item menu option has been removed. This
eliminates accidental or unauthorized removal of inventory items from a dealer’s
View Inventory Screen.
• Reporting Enhancements
Bug Fixes to the Inventory Inquiry Report. This release includes important
corrections to the Inventory Inquiry report to ensure accurate plate tracking and display.
Please note: For your convenience, Inventory Management System (IMS) Release Notes 9.0.7
(Dealer) are attached to this bulletin.
Thank you,
