Initial Notification: RTS Release Notes 9.4.0

Good afternoon,

Over the weekend of August 30, 2019, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will update the Registration and Title System (RTS) with Release 9.4.0 that contains the content summarized below. The content will be available September 14, 2019.  

Legislative Changes

The following are the changes in RTS 9.4.0 mandated by the 86th Legislative Session:

• Notification of Communication Impediment
• Former Military Vehicles – Off Highway
• New Registration Classes, Vehicle Class, and Body Styles
• Old Disabled Veteran(DV) Plates for Qualifying Vehicles

Non-Legislative Changes

The following are non-legislative RTS improvements:

• NMVTIS Inquiry Error Report Reflects Odometer Brand Error
• Temporary Permit Changes
• Major and Minor Colors Added for webPermits
• Major and Minor Colors Added to RTS Timed Permits
• Limit of Effective Date on Permits
