The Texas Department of Transportation has temporarily placed weight limits on three of the four direct connector ramps at the interchanges of IH45 and IH20 south of Dallas.
The direct connector ramps that are affected include:

IH45 northbound to IH20 westbound

IH45 southbound to IH20 eastbound

IH20 westbound to IH45 southbound
Weights are limited to:
-
20,000 lbs. on a single axle
-
34,000 lbs. on a tandem axle group
There is no gross vehicle weight limit.
These weight limits apply to:
-
All permit loads
-
Mobile cranes
-
Concrete trucks
-
Recycle trucks
-
Container trucks
-
Well service trucks
- Garbage trucks
-
EV class of fire engines (typically only used at airports)
It is illegal for trucks to ignore the new, temporary weight limitations. The Dallas County Overweight Enforcement Unit will issue citations and fines accordingly.
