Effective immediately, vehicle purchasers residing in counties affected by Hurricane Harvey and covered by the Governor’s Proclamation of August 28, 2017, are permitted a temporary extension of time to transfer a title and a waiver of the late transfer penalty for an additional forty-five (45) days. The temporary extension is effective until October 16, 2017.
The temporary waiver is restricted to title transfers for owners from the counties set forth in the proclamation indicated above. The temporary waiver grants an additional 45 days to process titles and waives associated delinquent transfer penalty fees during that period.
Attached is the current list of affected counties.
