Invoicing
Texas was fortunate to receive the amount of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) over the past few years to help support Texas Families through the COVID-19 Pandemic. As we discussed when awarding these funds, the ARPA funds were temporary. We wanted to remind our MIECHV grantees that MIECHV ARPA funding ends August 31, 2024. Because of this, any expenditures incurred after 8/31/24 with MIECHV ARPA will not be reimbursed. Please connect with your contract manager if you have any questions.
The Texas Prevention & Early Intervention (PEI) Division is seeking youth applicants to serve on the PEI Youth Ambassador Initiative. Texas youth will have the opportunity to provide feedback and influence decisions about how the State of Texas funds and supports programs supporting youth and families around the state.
The Youth Ambassador Initiative works to inform PEI staff about the service needs and gaps that impact Texas youth and their families. This is an opportunity for Texas youth to share their voice and opinions to support their peers around the state while building leadership skills.
Deadline for applications is August 31, 2024
Selections will be completed by Friday, September 13th, 2024. If selected for the YAI coordinator will send additional information about onboarding and the kickoff meeting.

Achieve OnDemand: Home Visiting with Families during Pregnancy
Home visitors can greatly enrich a mother’s experience throughout her pregnancy, birth and first days of a new family’s life together. By being actively involved during each trimester, you can build a trusting relationship with families and achieve the optimal goal of ensuring they are ready for birth and strong parent-child bonds. This course offers practical tools for you to use during home visits, including encouraging planning for the birth; family member involvement; and care post birth. While this course addresses the emotional and physical aspects of the perinatal period, it also prompts you as a learner to reflect on how your personal beliefs about parenting may influence your practice with families. The course consists of two parts and takes 5-6 hours to complete.
The Texas Family Support Network will be hosting the two-day nationally adopted Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support Virtual Certification Training in August!
Based on the Principles of Family Support Practice and the Strengthening Families Framework and its research-based evidence-informed 5 Protective Factors, the National Family Support Network has created a common language across different kinds of Family Strengthening and Family Support programs such as Family Resource Centers, home visiting programs, and child development programs.
This two-day virtual certification training details how the Standards can enhance work with families. Whether you are setting up a new program or strengthening an existing one, the Standards provide a blueprint for implementing best practice.
Day 1: September 18th 9:00am-3:30pm Day 2: September 19th 9:00am-3:30pm
Participants who complete the full 2 days will receive a certificate from the National Family Support Network that is valid for two years.
Participants will be required to attend both days of training and have a training manual to follow along with in order to receive certification. The manual will be mailed to participants prior to the first day of training.
***Upon registration, please provide the shipping address that you will have no trouble accessing. Last Day for registration will be on September 6th or until registration is full. It fills quickly!
