The Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) Division of DFPS, also Family Support Services in Chapter 137 of the Human Resources Code, in partnership with the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks applications from qualified entities within the state of Texas to provide Fatherhood: Educating Fathers for Empowering Children Tomorrow (EFFECT) programming and services.
About the Fatherhood EFFECT Program
The purpose of this grant program is to increase availability and accessibility of services and resources to fathers and father figures in the state of Texas.
The eligible population includes fathers, father figures, or expectant fathers connected to at least one child or youth from zero (0) to seventeen (17) years old, who could benefit from Fatherhood EFFECT programming designed to promote strong families. The goal of services funded under this RFA is to directly serve fathers and father figures. Limited services may also be proposed for the index child or index youth, co-parent, or family for the purpose of meeting the needs of fathers or improving family relationships.
Applicant may select one or more Texas counties as its service delivery area. Based on community needs, applicant may target certain areas of a county or counties. HHSC and DFPS reserve the right to negotiate with the applicant regarding specific geographic coverage.
