Residential Contracts

Dear Residential Provider,

In July of 2022, DFPS updated its Residential Child Care Contract to require that all caregivers complete the Preventing and Recognizing Sexual Abuse and Victimization in Foster Care training located on the Caregiver Training Hub on the DFPS Provider Portal.  The training is required prior to a caregiver providing direct care for a child or youth in DFPS Conservatorship and must be retaken annually.

During the month of November, DFPS is verifying compliance with this training requirement by comparing caregivers with active background checks at your operation with the list of staff registered in the DFPS Provider Portal.  If, as of October 23, 2023, a caregiver was not registered in the DFPS Provider Portal with a training completion date within the prior year, then you will be contacted with a request to submit a current training certificate(s).  Please note that you may be asked to verify training for individuals that are not are not required to take this training, as there are certain roles that may or may not include caregiver responsibilities and we ask that you clarify that when contacted.
