DFPS Policy Updates for January 2, 2023

DFPS’s Child Protective Services (CPS) and Child Protective Investigations (CPI) programs updated their shared policy handbook today. The changes address the following topics:

  • Education about medical care.
  • Extension of placement in the Intensive Psychiatric Transition Program (IPTP).
  • Qualifications for Treatment Foster Family Care (TFFC).
  • Releasing information to law enforcement or a county or district attorney.
  • Using Priority None closure codes.
