New Get Parenting Tips Article: Family Activities - Cooking Up Fun

Family Cooking

Cooking as a Family Activity

It can be hard to find time for family activities. Chances are you spend a lot of time in the kitchen, so think about it as a good opportunity to bond and for kids to learn. Time in the kitchen allows for opportunities to teach kids about healthy food choices and more, such as:

  • Colors, Shapes, and Sizes
  • Letters
  • Math
  • Reading
  • Following Directions
  • Science
  • Social Studies and History
  • Problem Solving

In Case You Missed It

Addressing Disproportionate Representation and Disparate Outcomes Moving the Work Upstream

Our first topic is Moving the Work Upstream: Addressing Disproportionate Representation and Disparate Outcomes. We know that throughout systems serving families, disproportionate representation and disparate outcomes exist for similar populations. Join us as we explore how the practice of embracing cultural humility may enhance prevention efforts to support families before a crisis and arrive at more equitable outcomes for Texas children and families. Our featured speakers will be Mosley Hobson and Sharibeth Niehaus with the Office for Addressing Disproportionality and Disparities. This webinar was recorded on December 8, 2022.
