Welcome to PEI Grantee News!

Our weekly e-newsletter to providers combines grantee resources, stories of interest, exclusive educational opportunities, and grant information. In this issue:

  • The Services page at enrollment level is updated to display a ‘Historical Info’ button for any enrollments that were migrated from a prior grant. When the user clicks ‘Historical Info’ button, an excel document downloads with a list of all prior services entered for the enrollment in the prior grant.
  • The Referrals page at enrollment level now displays a ‘Historical Info’ button for any enrollments that were migrated from a prior grant. When the user clicks ‘Historical Info’ button, an excel document downloads with a list of all prior services entered for that enrollment in the prior grant.
  • Updated the ‘Home Visit’ page at enrollment level to display the list of home visits and historical home visits in descending order by default.  
  • For migrated enrollments, automatically discharged all Index-Child Youth who had been discharged previously in the prior grant.  This applies to youth who were incorrectly migrated and displayed as active in target contract workflow. The discharge date was entered as ‘9/1/22’ for all discharged records.
  • Fixed an issue on Data Collections page where ‘updated by’ name may not have matched the most recent user who  made an update.
  • For CYD program,  updated ‘Enrollment Details’ page to display ‘School’ and ‘Zip code’ values that had been previously entered for migrated enrollments.   
  • For CYD program, updated ‘Enrollment Details’ page to allow users to update school and zip code information for migrated enrollments
  • Fixed an issue where Referrals were not displaying correctly and could not be edited
  • Various other page and system fixes

Partners in Prevention isn't just a once a year conference - it's a year round call for action and collaboration.

Our new Partners in Prevention Learning Series will begin in December. We will be hosting a different speaker related to relevant and timely issues on a different subject every other month. One (1) Social Work CE credit/contact hour will be provided for this event after evaluation feedback is received.

Our first topic is Moving the Work Upstream: Addressing Disproportionate Representation and Disparate Outcomes. Our featured speakers will be Mosley Hobson and Sharibeth Niehaus with the Office for Addressing Disproportionality and Disparities.

Achieve OnDemand: Challenges in Home Visiting: Substance Abuse (Self-Paced Course)

Substance abuse and addiction are prevalent, often reoccurring issues in home visiting.  Addiction can interrupt a parent's personal growth and interfere with their ability to fully engage with their child. This course will strengthen both new and experienced home visitors’ knowledge and ability to recognize signs of substance use and explore ways to address concerns with a parent in the context of their role as home visitor. Topics include the impact of substance use on family systems, parenting, child development and safety issues encountered in home visiting.

Training Tuesdays with PEI: Quality Incentive Project (QIP) Office Hours

Join Prevention and Early Intervention to learn about our Quality Incentive Project, otherwise known as QIP! We will walk through the QIP scorecard, including how to read it, what it means for your organization, and troubleshoot your burning questions. During the webinar, providers will learn about specific deliverables and formulas for the projects and how this impacts them. We will give you all the details around the measures, the weighting process, and scoring methodology!

NFSN Virtual Certification Training

Based on the Principles of Family Support Practice and the Strengthening Families Framework and its research-based evidence-informed 5 Protective Factors, the National Family Support Network has created a common language across different kinds of Family Strengthening and Family Support programs such as Family Resource Centers, home visiting programs, and child development programs.

This two-day virtual certification training details how the Standards can enhance work with families. Whether you are setting up a new program or strengthening an existing one, the Standards provide a blueprint for implementing best practice. Participants who complete the full 2-day session will receive a certificate from the National Family Support Network that is valid for two years.

All participants will have a manual mailed to you a week prior to training. Please make sure all mailing information is correct prior to submitting your registration. Spots are limited and registration fills quickly!

Advancing Behavioral Health Collaboration Annual Summit

The 6th Advancing Behavioral Health Collaboration (ABC) Annual Summit will be held virtually on November 29th, November 30th, and December 1st. Registration is free.

This year’s theme is Integrating School Mental Health to Support the Whole Child. Presentations will focus on ways to elevate and integrate school mental health and wellness to support the whole child by advancing school mental health practices and strengthening community partnerships.

Each of the three days will highlight different levels of tiered integrated students supports including universal, targeted, and intensive interventions. This summit will showcase best practices, shared insights, and provide resources to advance school mental health.

Participation is encouraged for professionals working in education service centers, local education agencies, state agencies, and community organizations who desire to support schools, learn from colleagues, and strengthen student mental health in Texas.

Order Parenting Tips Calendars for 2023

The 2023 Calendars are now available for preorder. This free family resource is filled with helpful tips for parents and caregivers of children of all ages. It’s available in English and Spanish, and endorsed by The Texas Pediatric Society. 

Calendars can be ordered in multiples of 100 with a maximum order of 500.
