Social Media Toolkit: Bullying Prevention Month

Bullying Prevention Month

October is World Bullying Prevention Month. Did you know at least 1 out of every 5 kids in the United States is bullied? In Texas, at least 40% of those who are bullied have seriously considered suicide. The conversation to prevent bulling can start as early as a when a child learns the difference between kindness and unkindness.

Dates to remember:

We've put together this social media toolkit designed to help caregivers have conversations with their children about bullying that can be posted on your organization’s websites or social media channels.

Included in the toolkit:

  • Messages to use in promoting bullying prevention;
  • Bullying prevention resources; and
  • Sample bullying prevention imagery to share and post.

The messages and links in the toolkit can be used as is or they can be customized in any way that works best for the month or year round in your community by directing to your prevention program’s information.

A home visitor who stays on schedule for ASQ-3 screenings supports a parent's investment in their child's future and provides ways to encourage next steps in their development. In this course, you will learn how to administer the ASQ in partnership with a parent, score the screening, and talk with parents about potential concerns.

Going Beyond Self-Care: Re-Focusing on Worker Well-Being to Combat Turnover

Date: October 5th
Time:
2:00 P.M. CDT
Register

It’s not fair, nor effective, to put the burden of self-care solely on workers’ shoulders when they’re already overwhelmed and struggling to keep up with casework and their clients’ needs. Creating a workplace culture grounded in psychological safety is crucial for organizations taking on the task of supporting worker well-being. Since research shows organizational culture is a significant factor for both retention and turnover, failing to prioritize worker well-being on an organizational level can be detrimental to your agency and ultimately the clients you serve.

During this webinar, we'll hear from members of the team working in Ohio to instill a safety culture in agencies statewide. Attendees will leave this webinar with practical tools to assess their agency's culture, strategies to foster psychological safety culture, and best practices to help with retention and turnover within your organization

Presenters:

  • Dr. Tiffany Lindsey, EdD, LPC-MHSP, Assistant Professor and Safe Systems Practitioner, University of Kentucky
  • Mike Kenney, Director of Strategic Initiatives, Public Children Services Association of Ohio
  • Chip Spinning, Executive Director, Franklin County Children Services
  • Moderator: Laura Haffield, Director of Market Advocacy, Northwoods
  • Moderator: Adrian Saldaña, MPA, Organizational Effectiveness Consultant, APHSA
