Partners in Prevention Conference: Recap

PIP Header

The Prevention and Early Intervention Division celebrated its 22nd annual Partners in Prevention (PIP) Conference September 13th, 14th, and 15th at the American Bank Center in downtown Corpus Christi. This year’s dynamic, interactive conference welcomed 1,109 prevention and early intervention professionals, including 857 in person and 252 virtual attendees, as they enjoyed 30 sessions, five intensives, and two memorable keynote sessions from ASAP Connect, and author, speaker, and advocate Crystal Williams.

Chief Prevention and Community Well-Being Officer Sasha Rasco noted how this year’s conference means more than ever because the last few years have been so challenging for everyone.

“Having the opportunity to connect in person with our grantees and partners, learn from each other, and celebrate our accomplishments, helps to anchor us in the purpose of our work,” said Rasco. “Our annual Partners in Prevention Conference spotlights the value that prevention work brings to Texas communities and offers tools to enhance the innovative work being done across the state to support children, youth, and families.”

This year’s theme was Anchored in Purpose, and it presented opportunities to answer questions like:

  • How do we stay anchored to our vision, mission, and goals?
  • What tools do we need to keep our connections strong?
  • Where have we found resources that give us renewed purpose?

Attendees demonstrated what drives their work through poster sessions and participation in fireside chats with PEI leadership, trainings, and networking opportunities.

Attendees enjoyed a special treat with a private reception at the Texas State Aquarium and celebrated outstanding stories of service and triumph by PEI Grantees and programs participants in their communities across Texas.

Save the Date

The next Partners in Prevention Conference will take place in November 2023 in Austin, Texas.
