PIP 2021 Call for Presenters

Submit your proposals for presentation today!

The 2022 Partners in Prevention (PIP) Conference will be September 13-15, 2022 at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas! The event will be geared toward in-person attendance and presenters, with limited session selections offered via livestream.

About the PIP 2022 Conference

Our 2022 conference theme is “Anchored in Purpose.” The past two years have been marked by many waves of uncertainty and instability. Even amid these storms, prevention and early intervention professionals across Texas have proven to be innovative, supportive, and have stayed the course. PEI believes this resolve and focus comes from a firm connection to our vision of creating a Texas where all children thrive in their families and communities.

This year we invite you to be part of the conversation, anchored in purpose, filled with hope and determined to reach our destination, where every family in Texas remains safe, secure, and thriving. We are seeking diverse voices, experiences and innovative concepts that answer questions like:

  • How do we as professionals stay anchored to our vision, mission, and goals?
  • What tools do we need to keep our connections strong?
  • What new research, data and projects exist that can reinforce our efforts in our respective communities?
  • Where have we found resources that give us renewed purpose?

Reflective Supervision/Consultation: Parallel Processing

This 1-hour webinar is intended for anyone who is interested in further exploring the parallel process within reflective supervision/consultation (RSC). The Best Practice Guidelines for Reflective Supervision Consultation say, “A hallmark of RS/C is the shared exploration of the parallel process. In other words, in RSC, attention is given to all relationships, including that between supervisor and practitioner, between practitioner and parent, and between parent, and infant/young child. It is critical to understand how each of these relationships affects the others.”

HHSC License Plate Art Contest

Texans can help raise awareness about human trafficking and support young survivors of human trafficking by participating in a new license plate design contest.

The design contest, hosted by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission in conjunction with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), will help create the Stop Human Trafficking Specialty License Plate, which was authorized by House Bill 2633 from the 87th Texas Legislature.

Texans who want to participate in the contest must create original designs that include the website iWatchTX.org. The iWatchTX.org website is operated by the Texas Department of Public Safety for people to report suspicious activity. The winning design will be used on the specialty license plate, which will be available for purchase through the Texas DMV in the fall of 2022.

HHSC also recently launched the Stop Human Trafficking donation fund to raise money for youth survivors of human trafficking. The fund will be used to provide grants to service providers committed to the recovery and protection of children and adolescents impacted by human trafficking. Proceeds from the sale of the specialty license plate will go toward this fund.

The deadline for contest submissions is April 30, 2022. All entries must follow rules and formatting requirements posted on the HHS website. To enter, visit the HHSC Human Trafficking Resource Center website.

HHSC and organizations involved in helping survivors of human trafficking will select and announce the contest winner in the summer of 2022.
