Fiscal Year Message to Grantees

The fiscal year will end at the close of business on August 31, 2021. DFPS Accounting has set a deadline to ensure all the invoices and reimbursement requests for services provided between 9/1/2018 and 8/31/2019 are submitted in time to meet state requirements.

All invoices for FY19 must be submitted to PEI by August 9, 2021.

This deadline only applies to FY19 invoices. Please continue to submit any FY20 or FY21 invoices as normal.

DSHS to Award $10 Million in Grants to Support Local Vaccination Efforts Across Texas

The Texas Department of State Health Services will award $10 million to local organizations working to promote COVID-19 vaccinations in Texas. The Texas Vaccine Outreach and Education Grant program will provide grants of $50,000 to $150,000 to a wide range of groups engaged in vaccine education with the goal of increasing the number of fully vaccinated Texans and slowing the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Texas organizations can submit proposals beginning today with award notifications expected to begin around the end of August. Priority will be given to applicants that focus on reaching rural communities, communities of color and Texans with disabilities.

DSHS encourages educational agencies, faith-based organizations, government entities, community coalitions, associations and nonprofit groups to apply for the federal funds. They will be awarded for projects lasting from six to nine months.

PEIRS Release Notes and Updates

The following PEIRS release notes are up to date as of 7/29/21:

  • New Referral Report: PEIRS users can generate a report showing all referrals made for enrollments within a workflow. This report is located on the Referrals tab. PEIRS users can select to view active enrollments, inactive enrollments or all enrollments.
  • Report 8 now displays the Home Visitor Assigned to the family on the detailed list. If multiple home visitors are assigned to a family during the reporting period, all home visitors will be listed.
  • Fixed an issue where some counties weren’t displaying resources on Get Parenting Tips or DFPS Public website.
  • Fixed an issue where search results weren’t displaying on DFPS Public website when navigating from Get Parenting Tips
