Congress passed the the Family First Prevention Services Act in February 2018. This
law restructures the child welfare funding that the Department of Family and Protective
Services uses to pay for services for children in foster care and other
services for families.
DFPS recently published a summary of
the new law and will continue to post updates on the DFPS website as our
