#RideDCTA Free to the Highland Village Balloon Festival
Skip driving and parking hassles and let us be your free ride to the 32nd Annual Highland Village Lions Club Balloon Festival! We will provide complimentary shuttle service to the family-friendly festival from Friday, August 16, through Saturday, August 17. The event will feature iconic hot air balloons and fun activities for the entire family including live bands, a petting zoo, car show, food, arts and crafts booths and more.
Riding DCTA for free is easy! Hop on our shuttle service at Marcus High School Sports Facility/Baseball Fields and Tennis Courts and get dropped off at Briarhill Middle School (next to the festival location). The free shuttle service will run from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, and from 4:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17. The shuttle will run every 20 minutes. We will operate regular A-train service during the event. Festival attendees should note that DCTA will not operate shuttle service on Sunday, August 18.

UPDATE: Check out our New University Pass Program Structure
On Thursday, August 1, we officially updated our University Pass Program fare structure that now aligns with our existing reduced fare discount. The University Pass Program provides an affordable and convenient commute alternative for students, faculty and staff who are affiliated with local colleges and universities.
There will no longer be a difference in fare pricing for university students vs. faculty and staff. University of North Texas (UNT), Texas Woman’s University (TWU) and North Central Texas College (NCTC) students, faculty and looking to travel locally and regionally can purchase a DCTA University Pass for discounted transit and to avoid the hassles of driving and sitting in traffic.
Our University Pass program and the required documents needed will mostly remain the same and pass sales will be handled through our website and at the Downtown Denton Transit Center (DDTC).
