DALLAS – The Oak Cliff Cultural Center presents Sway Buckley’s Smart Artist Institute ‘art preneur’ series. The sessions will take place the first two Tuesdays and Thursdays in May at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center, 223 W Jefferson BLVD, Dallas, TX from 11am – 12noon.

The Sm(ART) Artist Series is designed to assist creatives from all backgrounds in building a sustainable business from their craft. Sway Buckley, the CEO of SWAY Creative Arts Staffing and the Founder of The Sm(ART) Artist Institute, knows that passion alone is not enough to pay the bills. As a professional dancer she knows the struggle that many artists face when it comes to business acumen. The Oak Cliff Cultural Center is located in a historic storefront in the vibrant commercial district of Jefferson Avenue in Oak Cliff; the Oak Cliff Cultural Center opened its doors in August 2010. The facility was purchased and renovated by the City of Dallas through the 2003 Bond Program to function as a permanent City-owned arts center where residents and visitors of Oak Cliff could experience a variety of arts and cultural programs. The 5,000 sq. ft. storefront features a visual arts gallery and a dance studio/rehearsal space. The Oak Cliff Cultural Center is open Tuesday/Thursday, 3:00-9:00 p.m., Wednesday/Friday, 3:00-6:30p.m., and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
