DALLAS – The Oak Cliff Cultural Center presents GET MOVING WEDNESDAYS, a public program to teach different forms of dance and encourage exercise. Programs take place each month. The theme for April is Mambo! Classes take place Wednesdays, April 9 to 30 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center, 223 W. Jefferson Blvd., Dallas, 75208. The event is free but space is limited. Registration in advance is requested.


Everyone is invited to learn the fast, energetic style of Mambo (Salsa on 2) with Abraham Joseph Lopez, an instructor who specializes in Bachata, Cha Cha Cha, Mambo, and Salsa. He and his wife were also the Artistic Directors of New Generation Dance Group that went on to perform at the world renowned Puerto Rican Salsa Congress. He has performed in several competitions across the country and is excited to bring Mambo to Oak Cliff! About the Oak Cliff Cultural Center

The Oak Cliff Cultural Center is located in a historic storefront in the vibrant commercial district of Jefferson Avenue in Oak Cliff; the Oak Cliff Cultural Center opened its doors in August 2010. The facility was purchased and renovated by the City of Dallas through the 2003 Bond Program to function as a permanent City-owned arts center where residents and visitors of Oak Cliff could experience a variety of arts and cultural programs. The 5,000 sq. ft. storefront features a visual arts gallery and a dance studio/rehearsal space. The Oak Cliff Cultural Center is open Tuesday/Thursday, 3:00-9:00 p.m., Wednesday/Friday, 3:00-6:30p.m., and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
