Martin Luther King Educational Freedom Ride Tour set for Nov. 25-28 
 

What:             Dallas high school students will re-enact the 1961 Freedom Rides on an educational tour to Atlanta, in commemoration of "50 Years of Dreaming." The 30 students will create a documentary during the first annual Martin Luther King Educational Freedom Ride, honoring this special part of civil rights movement history.

The students will tour the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site, Morehouse, Spellman, Clark Atlanta University and the Oakland Cemetery. They will also visit Birmingham, Alabama to tour the historic 16th Street Church along with other historic tour sites.

The tour is a life-changing opportunity for students to experience real people, places, and events and to make connections with others.

When:            Monday Nov. 25 through Thursday Nov. 28


Where:          Students will leave from the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center at 2922 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, and travel to Vicksburg and Jackson Mississippi, and Birmingham, Alabama, then to Atlanta.
