DALLAS - Developers, businesses, nonprofits, and other qualified groups can share ideas for the 40-acre development planned for Fair Park through a Call for Concepts the Dallas Park and Recreation Department plans to release the week of November 10. The Call for Concepts is Dallas’ first step to explore development opportunities, and is part of the ongoing effort to revitalize Fair Park, attract private investment, increase year-round activity, and identify new revenue opportunities.
As the first step in exploring development opportunities, the Call for Concepts invites interested parties to submit ideas to transform Fair Park’s underused areas into amenities for residents and visitors to enjoy year-round. Ideas can include sports and recreation facilities, entertainment venues, restaurants, retail, hotels, and structured parking. The approximately 40-acre project area includes existing surface parking lots 10, 11, and 12 and the planned Fair Park Community Park.
Dallas City Councilmember Adam Bazaldua will host a community town hall November 2 from 6-7 p.m. at Vista Bank, 3225 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Dallas, TX 75210. A virtual attendance option is available at this link: https://dallascityhall.webex.com/dallascityhall/j.php?MTID=m318f0cd252366642b8b667acad20 8a37
During the November meeting, city leaders will explain the Call for Concepts, how to submit ideas, and the expected timeline. They’ll also discuss the types of development Dallas desires, opportunities for local businesses and jobs and how new development could connect Fair Park with nearby Southern Dallas neighborhoods while supporting the park’s long-term upkeep and historic preservation.
