Volunteers of America Texas opens applications for City of Dallas Home Repair Program

DALLAS — City of Dallas residents can now apply to Volunteers of America (VOA) Texas for the Home Improvement & Preservation Program (HIPP) from October 5 through October 16, 2026. The program offers qualified low- and moderate-income homeowners assistance in the form of a forgivable loan up to $24,000 for necessary repairs, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing repair/replacement, accessibility repairs and roofing. The program was transitioned to VOA Texas in February 2026.

Residents interested in home repair assistance may apply online, contact VOA Texas staff by email, or visit VOA Texas in person for help with the application process.

How to apply:

Required Application documents:

  • HIPP Home Repair Application (fully filled out)
  • Driver's license or state identification card
  • Social Security Card for all household members (or permanent resident card)
  • Property deed/proof of ownership
