City of Dallas to Raise Disability Pride Flag at City Hall Plaza in Honor of the Americans with Disabilities Act

What

The City of Dallas, Commission on Disabilities, the Office of Housing and Community Empowerment, and community partners will take part in an event to affirm disability pride and take part in a ceremony to raise for the first time the Disability Pride Flag on the Plaza. On June 24, 2026, the City of Dallas City Council approved the raising of the Disability Pride Flag at City Hall Plaza from July 15 – 31, 2026, and annually thereafter from July 1 – 31.

The event will highlight the meaning of disability pride, the powerful symposium of the Disability Pride Flag, and reinforce the City of Dallas’ commitment to advancing equal access under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The event will take place in the 1st Floor Lobby beginning at 8:30 a.m. At 9 a.m., attendees will transition to the Plaza for the flag raising, where tents will be stationed in the event of inclement weather.
