DALLAS — The City of Dallas, in partnership with the ETC Institute has completed the 2026 Community Survey, providing a comprehensive look at resident perceptions of City services, quality of life, and determine the priorities for the community. The survey was conducted from February through May using standardized methodologies to ensure statistically valid results with a 95% confidence level.
A total of 2,319 households participated in the survey, including at least 150 responses from each of the City’s 14 Council Districts. Respondent demographics closely reflect Dallas’ overall population, ensuring that the results provide an accurate and representative view of resident sentiment.
City leadership recognizes the importance of consistent, reliable feedback from residents to guide long-term planning and measure progress. The Community Survey is a key tool for tracking trends in public perceptions and helps inform decisions made during the annual budget development process.
This year’s results show continued improvement across most major categories, marking the third consecutive year of rising satisfaction. Notably, resident satisfaction with overall City services is higher in Dallas than in other large U.S. cities, demonstrating meaningful progress in service delivery and community engagement.
“Dallas residents continue to set a high standard for civic engagement, and this year’s survey reaffirms that the work we are doing is making a real difference. The steady rise in satisfaction reflects our commitment to delivering quality services, listening to our community, and advancing the priorities residents value most’ said Dallas City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert.
The report also identifies specific areas where satisfaction has increased significantly since 2024 and 2025, as well as areas where further improvement is needed, valuable insights that will support the preparation of the City’s upcoming biennial budget.
The full report, including the complete survey questionnaire and detailed trend analysis, is available on the City’s Financial Transparency website. The survey results will be presented to the City Council on June 17.
