City of Dallas and IKE Smart City Launch Innovative Interactive Digital Kiosks

Dallas, Texas —On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the City of Dallas, in partnership with IKE Smart City, launched a network of interactive digital kiosks with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the Deep Ellum neighborhood. This initiative integrates smart city technology to enhance connectivity, mobility, and public access to vital resources across Dallas' vibrant neighborhoods.

Designed to serve as a central hub for both residents and guests, the IKE network bridges the digital divide by offering free Wi-Fi hotspots and robust wayfinding capabilities. In anticipation of Dallas welcoming an influx of international visitors for this year’s major global events, the IKE software team has developed bespoke applications tailored to the dynamic needs of the city during high-profile national and global gatherings.

Available exclusively on these interactive digital kiosks, people can find

  • Real-time event updates, interactive city guides
  • Multilingual transit and mobility resources
  • Curated recommendations for local attractions, dining, and entertainment
  • Seamless, equitable access to city navigation resources

"Dallas is defined by its distinct, vibrant neighborhoods, and these new interactive kiosks will serve as integral guides, helping people explore everything our city has to offer just in time as we welcome an estimated 3.8 million visitors for the FIFA World Cup 2026," said Ahmad Goree, Chief of Staff to the Dallas City Manager. "By offering free directory listings to our small businesses and brand activations, we are ensuring that the economic benefits of this innovative technology are felt directly within our communities."

This platform fosters significant economic development by providing local businesses with substantial promotional opportunities through interactive directory listings. The kiosks also enhance public safety by acting as a highly visible medium for emergency communications and real-time alerts. Furthermore, a newly established cultural partnership with local arts organizations will showcase community-driven creative content, adding to the character of urban places and reflecting the unique identity of Dallas.

"The deployment of IKE in Dallas underscores our shared passion for smart urban growth and innovation," said Jibran Shermohammed, Executive Vice President at IKE Smart City. "From accessibility and multilingual capabilities to real-time public safety integrations, every feature of the IKE platform was designed to serve the diverse needs of this dynamic city. We look forward to seeing how these kiosks inspire exploration and support the daily lives of those who live, work, and visit Dallas."
