Reliant and City of Dallas Open Beat the Heat Cooling Centers for Summer Heat Relief

Reliant helps North Texans stay cool while reducing their energy usage and gathering as a community

What

Press Conference to kick off the 17th annual Beat the Heat Program. Reliant and the City of Dallas are partnering to provide Dallas area seniors and vulnerable residents relief from the summer heat. Beat the Heat will help residents of South and West Dallas stay cool and manage their electricity use during the summer by offering cooling centers, water, and free portable cooling devices to those in need. Reliant is donating $25,000 to fund 300 evaporator cooling units for distribution. 

The Reliant Beat the Heat centers and cooling devices will be at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center and West Dallas Multipurpose Center. Residents can call MLK, Jr. Community Center at 214-670-8418 or the West Dallas Multipurpose Center at 214-670-6341 to apply.
