May at the LCC: A Month of Art, Music & Community 🌸🎶

Join us at the Latino Cultural Center for a vibrant lineup of performances, workshops, and cultural experiences all month long. From hands-on art-making to live music and film, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, most events are free and open to the public!

✨ Featured Events

Kick off the month with LCC Talleres: Handmade Paper (May 2, 12 PM), led by artist Natasha Vega, where you’ll learn to craft your own paper using accessible techniques. Workshops end on May 23rd.

Celebrate Mother’s Day with two special workshops:
🌸 Floral Workshop (May 8, 6 PM) – a relaxed, creative space with flowers, drinks, and conversation
🎨 Flower Painting Workshop (May 9, 3 PM) – create artwork alongside your loved ones

Also on May 9, don’t miss Olimpaxqui Ballet (6 PM), a dynamic performance blending dance, music, and Mexican cultural traditions.

🎭 Performances & Film

Enjoy a YMCA Ballet Recital (May 12, 6 PM), showcasing young local talent, followed by Teatro Dallas: Los Niños Santos de Maria Sabina (May 15–24), a powerful theatrical production honoring the life of María Sabina.

Our film series continues with:
🎬 Cine Ahora: Rudo y Cursi (May 19, 7 PM)
🎬 Cine de Oro: Cinco de Mayo: La Batalla (May 20, 10 AM)

🎹 Closing the Month

Wrap up May with a special Consulate General of Peru Piano Concert (May 30, 7 PM), celebrating Peruvian culture through music.
