Texas Folklife: Roots & Rhythm Workshop

After arriving late and tipsy to his friend's funeral, Cantinflas is left in charge of his friend's son by the widow. Cantinflas and the boy, Chavita, meet Chavita's teacher, who convinces Cantinflas that he should also go to school. When Cantiflas meets the teacher again they confess their love.

The Goals of Painting exhibit features works by renowned Mexican artist Jazzamoart. Reflecting soccer as more than a sport, his work reveals it as a shared cultural language that connects communities across borders.
Curated by Elena Catalán Roldán, the exhibition celebrates the dynamic relationship between art, sport and global culture. Also includes a sculpture by Mexican artist Rodrigo de la Sierra featuring Timoteo, a character that playfully explores everyday human experiences while referencing the balance and spirit of fútbol.

Cocina Flamenca: Fiesta Flamenco

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of flamenco, flavor, and festivity as Cocina Flamenca LIVE 2026 returns for its third annual celebration at the Latino Cultural Center!
Inspired by Spain’s iconic La Feria de Sevilla, this free festival brings together world-class flamenco performances, authentic Spanish cuisine prepared by international chefs, and interactive experiences for the whole family.
The festival wraps up with Fiesta Flamenca XII ($35), an exclusive, one-hour indoor performance featuring exceptional guest artists. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7 pm. Expect to see bailaoras Nelida Tirado and Carmen Montes aka “La Chispa,” alongside guitarists Ricardo Sanchez and Juanis de la Isla, Jose Cortes. Local Dallas favorites will also light up the stage, including Maestro Antonio Arrebola of Flamenco DNA.

With activities led by community partners, including LEGO workshops by Brick Haus and show decorating workshops from PASOS for OC, bilingual storytime, and creative art stations, there’s something for all ages to explore.
Don’t miss the “Juguetes Para Todos” toy drive, where guests can donate a toy for a chance to win custom shoe experiences and a VIP Disco Kids party.
