City of Dallas Office of Community Police Oversight Invites Community to Public Safety Response Symposium

DALLAS - The City of Dallas Office of Community Police Oversight (OCPO) invites all Dallas residents to the Public Safety Response Symposium: Understanding Public Safety Response. This event will provide a transparent look at how public safety operates and offers residents the opportunity to engage directly with city leaders.

The symposium will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for light breakfast and refreshments. The event will be held at the State Fair of Texas, Briscoe Carpenter Livestock Center, 1403 Washington St., Dallas, TX 75210. Secure your spot by registering here: https://bit.ly/PSRsymposium

All Dallas residents are encouraged to attend and have their voices heard.

Hear opening remarks from Dallas Police Chief Daniel C. Comeaux, followed by presentations from public safety leaders who will provide an overview of how 9-1-1 and 3-1-1 calls are processed, how resources are deployed, and how technology will improve response times. Attendees will also gain insight into the roles of Crisis Intervention, Emergency Management, and specialized teams dedicated to serving the Dallas community.

During the Community Q&A session, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and engage directly with public safety leaders on topics discussed throughout the event, helping to inform a safer and more responsive Dallas. Community participation is encouraged, and attendee input is valued.

"Open communication is essential for a safer Dallas. This symposium is about listening to the community, answering questions, and building trust. We welcome everyone to join us, share their perspectives, and help strengthen public safety in our city," said Police Monitor Michele Andre.
