DALLAS - The City of Dallas celebrates National Community Development Week, April 6–10, highlighting the significant impact of federal community development investments on neighborhoods across the city. Throughout the week, residents and local elected officials will have the opportunity to learn how programs funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Consolidated Plan—specifically the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program—are advancing efforts to expand affordable housing, reduce poverty, and strengthen essential public infrastructure.
The weeklong observance will feature a series of events, activities, and outreach efforts designed to highlight the measurable benefits these programs bring to Dallas communities, while also underscoring the importance of sustained and increased federal funding.
National Community Development (NCD) Week will engage residents, civic leaders, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and media partners in demonstrating how strategic CDBG and HOME investments are transforming neighborhoods and enhancing the city’s physical, economic, and social landscape.
