Dallas – The Latino Cultural Center (LCC) presents “Elevar La Cultura”, a large-scale, immersive installation by internationally acclaimed street artist Victor “Marka27” Quiñonez. The installation is currently on view at the LCC Plaza and is free and open to the public. 

Rising over 20 feet tall, “Elevar La Cultura” reimagines a Mayan pyramid using contemporary, everyday materials, specifically ice coolers commonly associated with street vendors. These utilitarian objects are layered with cultural textiles, spiritual references, and mural elements to create a sculptural form that bridges ancestral symbolism and present-day life. The installation reflects Quiñonez’s signature Neo-Indigenous approach, which draws from pre-Columbian imagery, street art traditions, and community-based narratives. By transforming familiar objects into a monumental structure, the work highlight’s themes of creativity, resilience, and cultural continuity, honoring the labor, ingenuity, and lived experiences that shape communities across generations. 

A pioneering figure in graffiti and street art, Victor “Marka27” Quiñonez is known for blending fine art, public art, and cultural storytelling. “Elevar La Cultura” invites visitors to consider how tradition and contemporary expression intersect, and how art can serve as a platform for shared memory, identity, and dialogue.

A division of the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture, the Latino Cultural Center is located at 2600 Live Oak St., Dallas, TX 75204.
