DALLAS - Dallas Executive Airport is aiming high after a 40-year ground lease, and construction of a hotel on the 1,070-acre property was approved by the Dallas City Council on February 11.
The development agreement with Hampton Hospitality Limited Partnership includes the construction and management of an 87-room Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, under the Choice Hotels brand. The partnership is expected to generate at least $7 million in development investment for the City of Dallas.
“The City Council’s approval of this hotel at Dallas Executive Airport represents a strategic investment in our southern sector, strengthening both a vital transportation hub and the surrounding community,” said Dallas City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert. “This project demonstrates the kind of public-private collaboration that helps Dallas responsibly invest in targeted economic growth.”
As the newest hotel within five miles of the airport, it will drive commercial and economic opportunities in the community through increased local employment and visitor lodging. Additionally, the City of Dallas will receive increased revenues from sales, property, and hotel occupancy taxes collected from the developer.
“Dallas Executive is a convenient and accessible general aviation airport. Adding a hospitality offering to this valuable city asset underscores those benefits and provides point-to-point travel,” Department of Aviation Director Patrick Carreno explained.
Construction of the hotel is expected to be completed in 2027, making it the first non-aeronautical development at the facility in more than 30 years.
